Volunteer

Your time is so valuable to us

Volunteering with us is a great way to give back to those less fortunate, meet new people and have fun at the same time. We’re so grateful for all our volunteers who are the backbone of our mission to break down social barriers and build a more caring society.

We welcome help with our lunch service from Monday to Friday to set up, serve food and interact with our guests, as well as seeking those with cooking experience to help in the kitchen. We also really appreciate volunteers with other skills, particularly those with experience in health, wellbeing and creative arts who might be able to offer activities for our guests.

Become a volunteer if:

  • You care about issues around food poverty and social vulnerability and share our passion for reducing food waste.

  • You can commit to a regular or semi-regular volunteering slot at lunchtime from Monday to Friday.

  • You are a proactive person who wants to work in a team to engage with the local community and support the project by giving your time and skills.

Kitchen volunteer shifts run from 8AM-2PM and FOH shifts run from 10AM-2PM every weekday.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please fill out our application form, or get in touch with us via email at volunteers@stcuthbertscentre.org.uk

Kitchen takeovers

We’re lucky to have had some wonderfully talented chef teams work with us through kitchen takeovers, many of whom are working in some of London’s top restaurants. We believe everyone should have the chance to experience the pleasures of good food and new tastes, including those who might otherwise be excluded from the restaurant environment for financial or other reasons. If you’re a chef, restaurant or catering business looking for a creative challenge and team-bonding day whilst helping a worthwhile cause, please get in touch by emailing volunteers@stcutbertscentre.org.uk

Corporate volunteers

Volunteering at Refettorio Felix is a great way to motivate and engage colleagues around a social cause, where teams can demonstrate their commitment to creating positive change and see the direct impact of their work. We can host up to five colleagues at a time, offering them an induction and training before service begins. Afterwards, each team is invited to sit down and enjoy a lunch cooked by our chefs. Other ways to help

We’re often seeking specialist professional advice and pro-bono services. If you have experience in these fields and can offer us some of your time, we’d love to hear from you!

  • Translation - particularly Spanish, Italian, Polish, Arabic & Farsi

  • Mental health & wellbeing - we’re always on the lookout to expand our Support Services provisions and have had great success with volunteer-led group activities in the past!
