News and Stories

Our community includes all kinds of characters and provides much food for thought. We like to share stories, news and perspectives on food recovery and social inclusion, giving a voice to chefs, volunteers, guests, suppliers and anyone else who has had the chance to be involved in our project.

A Trip to the Museum

We brought 8 of our guests on a private curator-led tour of the big summer exhibition at the Victoria and Albert museum Food: Bigger than the Plate. Together we learned about our food system and how it can change to become "more sustainable, healthy and fair." In doing so, we gained insight into the way that art and design inform, change and shape how and what we eat.

Fatto a Mano! Pasta Masterclass for our Culinary Trainees

Read about our first Masterclass, offered to our culinary trainees: pasta making with Amber Francis of The Dairy. Our graduates learned how to make pasta dough, how to form more than five different shapes and the sauces to go with them.

Chineze x Refugee Food Festival x Refettorio Felix

On June 17th to celebrate World Refugee Day, the award winning Refugee Food Festival will come to Refettorio Felix at St. Cuthbert's Centre. Chineze from Nigeria will be cooking a three course ticketed feast after having cooked lunch for our guests the same meal in the beginning of June.
