In a professional kitchen environment, participants build confidence, acquire life skills, gain culinary know-how & learn about table etiquette. Each participant will be asked to volunteer during the Refettorio lunch service to gain professional kitchen experience. Through kitchen skills, participants will build confidence and self-motivation as well as enjoy socialising and feeling part of a team.
Our workshops will arm each participant not only with professional aptitude in the kitchen but also help them gain an understanding of nutrition and diet, helping them learn about cooking a balanced meal and gaining a respect for food and hospitality services.
The 7-week course is supported with preparation for work: life skills training, positive work attitude, time management, CV writing and interview support, as well as assistance in accessing further educational training course and work experience.
