Friend of the centre and fabulous Italian chef Gloria lives and breathes cooking, especially pasta! To help raise much needed funds for the centre she’s holding three separate masterclasses (tickets available on Eventbrite, see below) to show you how easy and satisfying it is to make your own gnocchi, egg pasta or English muffins with hollondaise.
Gloria’s never happier than when elbow-deep in flour and with her @madebyflour classes you’ll have the chance to watch and learn from a master whilst following at home. In each interactive cooking class she’ll take you through step by step, teaching you all the way. And if you like the idea of cooking at home with a professional, why don’t you share the link with your friends and take part together?
By joining the class, you’ll not only learn a new skill but you’ll be donating directly to the centre. As one of the few community kitchens still open we’re providing literally hundreds of meals every day for the homeless, Age UK, Smartliving and the NHS. We’re reliant on donations to keep going so it would be amazing if you could help.
In each class, Gloria has listed the ingredients and the equipment you’ll need to take part but if you just want to watch, that’s fine too! As it’s interactive, you and Gloria can even go off script. Just think about the ingredients you have available and together you can find the best recipe to suit your tastes and your store cupboard!
How to Make Gnocchi
Saturday 11th April 11.00 – 12.30
In this first lesson you’ll learn how easy it is to make your own gnocchi plus a simple but tasty tomato and onion sauce. Simply buy your ticket on Eventbrite, check the list of ingredients and equipment needed, and off you go! Cook together if you choose or use it as a tutorial if not. During each lesson you can interact with Gloria, following each step in the process.
She’s chosen a tomato and onion sauce because it’s simple but very tasty and based on ingredients that should be easy to come by. But, as we said, you and Gloria can decide together.

How to Make Egg Pasta
Thursday 16th April 11.00 – 12.30
In this second interactive lesson Gloria reveals the secret of how to make egg pasta from scratch. Firstly she’ll make tagliatelle and then other pasta shapes of your choosing. There’s a step-by-step guide to her simple but delicious tomato and onion sauce but, as with the gnocchi, you can choose your own menu based on ingredients you have to hand if you would rather. It really is up to you!

If you’ve ever wanted to have a go but thought it was beyond you, now’s your chance to try under the watchful eye of an expert. It’s not as difficult as you think if you’re in the hands of a professional!
