Every lunchtime Monday-Friday at Refettorio Felix we dine incredibly well on food made from leftovers, scraps, and surplus. Our chefs, Nassim and Cleo, craft a meal out of whatever the truck delivers in the morning. They are experts at making do.
After all, banana bread tastes better with brown bananas and stale bread makes better bread crumbs.
We are challenging our friends to spend Monday making do as well. It’s not too hard, we do it every day thank you to the generous donations of our partner organizations. Look into your fridge and conjure a supper or lunch from the odds and ends. Try to spend Monday buying nothing new, and instead of making do: eating the delicious food that is already there.
